Oversea students majoring in architecture and urban planning, together with architects and planners from Huadu Architecture and Planning Design Ltd. (HDD) gathered for the first HDD Mixer Event on May 10. The event is designed as a platform for HDD employees to mingle with oversea scholars and share ideas about city-related issues. The inaugural event invited eight students from Italy, Turkey, Iran, Brazil, Tunisia, Ecuador and Afghanistan to tell the stories of the culture and history of their hometowns.

Sarra and Mariem from Tunisia, Farid from Iran, as wll as Marcus from Brazil presented their ideas during the event.

In addition to lectures and academic discussion, students and employees also played an ice breaker game in which each one of them have to use a word beginning with the capital letter of their names to describe themselves. There were a lot of hilarious “self boasting”and the winner is “Fabulous Farid”.

Students and employees enjoyed a nice afternoon talking and learning from each other over delicious drinks and snacks.

At the end of the event, HDD presented small gifts to students and employees. After that, HDD employees took oversea students to have a visit at our office.
