As part of Shanghai Culture Infrastructure Design Competition for Young Designers of Year 2016, HDD won Excellent Award with the work for Shanghai Grand Theatre. The competition results were announced by Pudong District Government on May 15, 2016.

With the main idea that Stage for Life, the competition theme that “Culture, Art and Life”,HDD designed the theatre to be not only an internal stage, but a shared stage open to public.

With roof of traditional Chinese style, roof garden for city view, open stage for kids and a bridge connecting the architecture with the park, the original was spoke highly for human-oriented characteristics.
