HDD won the China Award for Science and Technology in Construction

Recently,the China Award for Science and Technology in Construction Committee announced the list of  winning projects for the year 2023. The project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Efficient Construction of Song-style Aesthetic Buildings" declared by Shanghai HuaDu Architecture & Urban Design Co., Ltd. (HDD) together with China Construction First Group Corporation Limited won the third prize of the China Award for Science and Technology in Construction.

The China Award for Science and Technology in Construction

The China Award for Science and Technology in Construction, known as the "Huaxia Award," was established in 2002. It is hosted by the Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development . It is China's most prestigious social science and technology award in the housing and urban-rural construction industry. The aim is to recognize significant contributions made by individuals and organizations within the construction industry, promote the conversion of scientific and technological achievements into productive forces, and elevate the overall technical standards of the housing and urban-rural construction sector.

Award -winning Project

The project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Efficient Construction of Song-style Aesthetic Buildings" is a special research project conducted by HDD in collaboration with China Construction First Group Corporation Limited, the project's general contractor, during the construction of Beijing Yanbai Villa. The project aims to express contemporary interpretations of Chinese local architectural characteristics, conducting research and practical work in areas including design methodology, material research, building construction, and construction technology. The declaration was made by Yu Qi, Deputy Chief Architect of HDD, who was extensively involved in providing technical guidance for the project.

Technical Innovation Achievements

1. Research on the construction technology of cast-in-place fair-faced concrete with a light wood grain texture.

2. Research on the construction technology of large-surface wood grain texture precast fair-faced concrete hanging boards.

3. Research on the construction technology of rammed earth walls.

4. Research on the construction technology of steel and wood combined roof frames in the Song-style aesthetic style.

5. Research on green brick roofing systems.

6. Research on the construction technology of art miscellaneous masonry systems.

7. Research on the construction technology of plastered walls.

8. Research on the construction technology of large overhanging heavy bamboo sunshade fans.

9. Technical research on BIM+VR technology in reproducing Song aesthetic style buildings.

According to the appraisal of the expert meeting of Beijing  Construction  Association(BCA),the research results have reached the international leading level. The research results have been successfully applied in the project and achieved good social and economic benefits. HDD will take this award as an opportunity to accelerate and strengthen the research and application of new construction technologies and contribute to the development of new quality productivity in the construction industry.
