HDD Lecture: Development & Application of AI-Powered Computer Vision in Digitalized Design

On the afternoon of September 13th, the Chief Engineer Office of Shanghai HuaDu Architecture & Urban Design Co., Ltd. (HDD) organized an internal seminar as a part of the HDD Lecture series, featuring Chief Engineer ZHANG Yi, who delivered a presentation on "Development and Application of AI-Powered Computer Vision in 'Digitalized Design'".

The lecture began by looking into the impact of artificial intelligence on various industries, in which major applications of artificial intelligence are introduced along with the concept of AI-powered computer vision, emphasizing its significant role in advancing design digitalization.

The lecture provided a detailed overview of how AI technology can be leveraged to digitize and revamp the design process. Zhang showcased the efficiency of digitalization through demonstrating how AI-assisted automated lighting layout design could be achieved in CAD architectural drawings. The session also addressed multiple challenges encountered in non-standard design scenarios in terms of algorithm development and machine comprehension.

During the discussion session, Zhang highlighted the multifaceted significance of digitalization for advancing the architecture design industry.
